Inventory of Effective Practices in Financing and Resourcing of Voluntary Sector Organizations in Canada

Case Study Selection

Organizations were selected for diversity of location across the country, size, sector and approach to the work they do. While the case studies cannot represent the broad diversity within the sector, nor locate the best of the "effective practices", they do illustrate a wide range of successful practices. The organizations presented in the inventory have developed a unique set of practices that create resourcing models to fit with their mission and help them strengthen their long term financial sustainability.

No matter what the mandate, location, size, or scope of the organizations, they do share some basic principles: they all represent effective, vibrant organizations that have adapted to change, are passionately committed to their mission or purpose, and strongly represent their communities. Please see the list of organizations included in the inventory.
